An Amtrak spokeswoman said it was one of the company's employees who was struck by an Acela escort minutes after it had left-wing Union Station in Washington on its movement to New York City earlier this morning. The upset happened at 5:08 a.m. north of the New Carrollton station, and Amtrak and Maryland Transit Administration this instant shut up down the followers lines.
Trains were delayed for more than two hours, until Amtrak was able to ice-free one of four balustrade lines brusquely after 7 a.m. Karina Romero, the Amtrak spokeswoman, said the manly staff member was airlifted to an size sanitarium by Prince George's County Fire/EMS Department. His outfit was unavailable.
The Maryland Transit Administration had initially reported that the human had died, but Romero reported at 7:45 a.m. that he was still alive. Romero said it was "not unusual" for Amtrak employees to be working on the route but she didn't distinguish explicitly what he was doing at the occasion he was struck.
